AFTERCARE TIPS
Here are some basic skincare habits you can incorporate immediately after a facial treatment for longer-lasting effects.

1. Avoid putting on makeup or other facial products for at least 6 hours after your treatment.

Your skin contains lots of pores to help it “breathe” and applying makeup or piling on facial products like moisturizers right after a facial not only undermines the effects of the facial, but will also clog your pores and congest your skin.

2. Avoid picking at your skin or use abrasive skincare products like scrubs for at least 72 hours after your treatment.

It is normal to experience slight redness after a facial or itching after an extraction. However, your therapist will apply light cream or moisturizer to calm your skin and help it heal.

It’s important to let your skin repair itself after undergoing a facial treatment. Touching your face or scrubbing your skin will worsen it.

3. Stay away from direct heat for up to 48 hours after your treatment.

Direct heat can include sunbeds, saunas or hot spas. It is best to avoid suntanning on the beach right after a facial as well, as your skin is completely raw and vulnerable during this time, and may not be well-protected against the sun’s harmful UV rays.

4. Only go for one facial or skincare treatment at a time.

This is crucial, regardless of the areas of your skin that are treated. Besides letting your skin breathe, setting a reasonable window of time between facial treatments of at least 48 hours is important.

This can help your skin adapt to the first facial treatment and allow it to repair and heal properly before the next treatment.

5. Refrain from smoking or drinking alcohol for up to 72 hours after your treatment.

The smoke from cigarettes contains particles that can clog your pores, and after a facial treatment your facial pores are almost always larger and can easily trap smoke particles. This can worsen your skin condition even if you have just had a treatment.

Similarly, alcohol contains compounds that can affect your skin and speed up the aging process. Stay clear of harmful substances after a facial treatment and the benefits of your facial will last longer.

On top of applying the above-mentioned tips, here are some additional skincare advice that you can consider to maintain healthy-looking skin in the long run!

● Continue your skincare routine: cleanse, tone and moisturize.
● Don’t sleep with makeup on.
● Regularly hydrate yourself with 6 to 8 glasses of water per day.
● Maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

• Filling form & Skin Analysis. If you are a new client, you have fill out a form that has questions about your skin concerns, your diet, how much water you drink, drugs and supplements you take, and products you are currently using for your face. This can affect your skin and what the kind of facial you should have. After looking at your form, the esthetician is determining your basic skin type and skin conditions (acne, blackheads, whiteheads, aging, sun-damage, dehydration, etc.) The esthetician then chooses the appropriate fresh mix products and treatment tools for your facial session.
• Cleansing. After wrapping your hair with a towel or headband, the esthetician begins a facial with a thorough cleansing your pore. Then facial massage using classic strokes like effleurage to both relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles.
• Exfoliation. Using a natural and fresh mix exfoliant mixed. Natural exfoliants have an uneven texture (micro-beads) that gently rubs away the surface dead skin cells. This type of exfoliation uses enzymes and acids to loosen the bond between skin cells. A gentle natural enzyme treatment can be done during the steam.
• Steam. A thin vapor of warm steam to your face to help soften up your skin and any blackheads and whiteheads to be extracted later (in the extraction facial). The steam is also very relaxing and helps soften up any blackheads and whiteheads to be extracted later.
• Extractions (Only For Extraction Facial). This is a process of removing blackheads or whiteheads if you book for an extraction facial. People have different pain tolerance for extractions. They can be uncomfortable, especially on thin or Rosacea prone skin.
• Mask. Allowing the nutrients to penetrate better into your skin and creates film that helps locking the hydration and moisturization.
• Tension Relief. One of the best parts is that while waiting for the nutrients to absorb into your skin, we do a shoulder, arms and hands massage to help increasing the temperature of muscles, loosening tightness, relieving tension, and physically reducing stress. No matter what causes the stiffness or soreness, shoulder massage is an effective way of increasing your range of motion. That’s because it increases the supply of fresh blood to your muscles, providing them with oxygen-rich nutrients.
• Serum. Final application of serums.
